Sprucing Up Your Front Entry

Need to update your front entrance?

Add planters, faux ferns, and a new door mat and VOILA!

Elevating the view to this porch entrance. The striped rug will be added to complete this quick update.

Items needed: Tall planter, faux ferns (or another floral of your choice), foam blocks, fake moss, rocks or something heavy for the bottom of the planter to keep it from blowing over on a windy day, and some bubble wrap or other filler. All are pictured below and linked (just hover over photo).

I’ve seen lots of videos of people just popping these faux ferns into planters…. BUT, you need to do a few extra steps to ensure they stay in place. Adding rocks (or something heavy) to the bottom of the pot is crucial to keep it standing upright. I was able to find some in my backyard. The Bloem Finley Planter was just the right height for my front porch, but the false deck is a bit low for faux greenery, I doubled up on the foam blocks, using 2 packages for each planter. To keep these from moving around I packed the sides with some bubble wrap and plastic shopping bags I had hanging around. The fern was then placed in the center. It definitely needed some fluffing and buffing to get it to lay nicely! There are a few small bare spots ~ and for those I used some fake moss. To complete this, I added a new Welcome Mat, and Voila! ~ updated curb appeal!
